Turn your speakers up, I’m hard to hear over the waves!
It’s often said that one’s best thoughts come while sitting in the bathroom. I completely disagree and find that an ocean tends to bring the clearest thinking anywhere.
In this particular case I spent some time just thinking about why it is some people succeed and fail in network marketing. Why given the same opportunity and chance can two people achieve vastly different result?
It really comes down to core belief and believability. This might sound a bit too simplistic but I assure you that this 4 minute video is well worth the view and could force you to confront some serious decisions you’ve been avoiding and may just lead to an entirely new direction for your MLM business.

I definitely agree.
Thanks Shawn! Great video! It’s true………..if you don’t believe in the product 100% how can you expect to succeed in your business. If you have any doubt in the product or the price of the product it’s very difficult to talk to someone about your particular product. I’m facing that now and I think you just made a light click on in my head. To ask someone to come out of their pockets for $120 a month on a product that will really only work over a 2-3 month period of using it is rediculous.
Have a great evening and I look forward to more of your webinars!
Mike
Hey that was actually a pretty good thought. You’re right. If you aren’t willing to put your business against your reputation then you’re selling the wrong product. You REALLY have to be willing to give it as much effort and time as it takes. That will be different for different people.
You are so right! Thanks for all of the great inspiration! Now it’s time for me to put in the perspiration. Thank You!
Good thoughts! The missing ingredient that causes most MLM failure is the same thing that causes most marriage failures — that is, LACK OF COMMITMENT.
Another key ingredient involves the LAW OF ATTRACTION, or the power of positive thinking (You’re right whether you think you can or you think you can’t).
Wish I’d received more of this kind of training when I first encountered Amway in the 60′s (instead of the warm market list and the 3-foot rule)
Excellent perspective. I recently came to a similar conclusion after adding up all the committment and preparation time I had put into an accounting career, and a different technical career. I can only succeed in my MLM experience if I commit the effort required for any other attempt to positively change my circumstances. Strength is built through struggle – if it was easy, everybody would be able to succeed, but success would be meaningless.
Thank you Shawn for sharing your experience and wisdom.
Shawn,
Thanks for the reminder in your video above that “long term thinking” is necessary.
The belief that this will work for me becomes discouraging when I am in a “short term thinking mode”. As long as I know that the process does take time and I apply realistic thinking to my efforts, eventually I will see results.
Staying plugged into the system continues to develop the hopes and dreams which become the catalyst for growing this business.
I believe the system works and I also believe it will work for me.
Thanks for redirecting my thought process.

Thank You. This helped alot,This will help us keep moving forward and roadblocks that are in our way.
Right on the money. I am one of the second people you talked about. I believe the thing works, but so for not so well for me. Not giving up. One suggestion. Get a wireless mic for you videos. It sounds like you used the mic on the camera. Sounds good, but too good. You don’t want everybody to hear the crashing waves and the bugs chirping louder or as loud as you. The lavaliere mic will help “turn down” the other sounds by being so much closer to the sound we want to hear.
Thanks
Al

Thanks for your knowledge sharing. Poised to move ahead from here. Your prodding is appreciated. Last night, my wife and I went to our congressman’s town hall meeting, John Carter (he’s in the 93rd percentile of most conservative in Congress). About 300+ attendees. As an early one to the microphone, I stated that as far as jobs are concerned, it’s up to each of us to employ ourselves because nothing of any value is going to come from Washington. I mentioned we need to re-kindle our entreprenurial spirit in spite of the DC headwind because the opportunities are all around us. Congressman Carter agreed and mentioned that he would propose that wherever he speaks. My comments were received quite well by the crowd. See you at the Anatole in 2 weeks.
Back to the basics! The beach is a great think-tank and your message was right on and straight from the heart. It was a little difficult to focus on the message over the noise of the waves, bit it was well worth it. Thanks for helping us build our Ambit business!

Shawn,
I think why most people fail is because of their expectations are not met right away. They think they can get in business and a month or so be rolling in the money. They kick the business around for a few months or so and if it’s not generating results they quit. This gives the industry a bad name because these are the people who fail bad mouth the industry that it doesn’t work. I think too that over time people are afraid of rejection and what people might think. People are so afraid of what people think that it clouds their dreams all together. I think to overcome this you have to constantly remind yourself why you are doing your business. Whether it’s putting up a dream board or dream building you have to keep reminding yourself. Also having stronger belief in your company over your fear is very important. Staying plugged into your business whether via meetings, conference calls, webinars is key to building belief in your company. I think what has helped me is meeting other people in Ambit who are succeeding has given me the belief to stay in this business. Like you said network marketing is only for certain people. To make it in NWM you need a lot of persistence and faith that your efforts will pay off. I like the Robert Kiyosaki saying in Cash Flow Quadrant “why quit now”? All of the top earners in every NWM company all have the same in common they never quit! I really appreciate all your guidance and willingness to teach others. Thanks So Much!
Hi Shawn!
Great video…You covered all of the beliefs but the one that I think is the most important is the belief in yourself, You can believe in a product or company till the cows come home, but if you have self limiting thoughts and beliefs and that little voice in your head is screaming you can not do this… you WILL talk yourself right out what you want to accomplish…Believe in yourself first, because anything is possible!
Thanks for letting me share,
Jodi

Great Vid, I forwarded it to Jane R, it’s funny we were having a ph conversation just this morning about this very issue…thx
We do BELIEVE & we WILL succeed !! Being successfully self employed for over 30 years, we are in a position to work at this and watch it grow without seeing the huge up front profits. We feel the reason that alot of people give up is because they need to see that big immediate profit. Network marketing is a totally new and exciting experience for us which we are enjoying very much. Thanks again for your continued moral support & Have a Great Day !
Hi Shawn
You must be passionate about your products to be successful in mlm.
Doug
I appreciate your allowing me to see your presentations. Having been told I could not make it in my business of 26 years when I started, I do understand. Retirement is just around the corner and once again (not successful before, did not believe in the product) I have found a product this time that has a good reputation and that I BELIVE in and I will buy in and stick with. The internet should be a great help this time also. Thanks again and I have signed up for your webinars.
