Times have changed! Competing at the highest level in network marketing today takes an understanding and strategy to maximize old school network marketing fundamentals along with 21st century technology, communication and marketing.
Network marketing is NOT word of mouth marketing, but rather it is person to person marketing. You cannot and will not be able to remove people from the equation. At the same time, we cannot live in an age that has passed us by. Communication is shifting from face to face and phone communication to text, Skype and Facebook messages.
At the core of your business must be a product or service that provides real world value and is easily shared on a person to person basis. Too often people turn to the internet to market that which they don’t feel comfortable or confident to put their “real world” name behind.
The internet won’t save you if you are not representing something that you believe in. If you are in this situation, STOP and immediately find a company with a product that you can believe in deeply enough to stake your reputation on.
When you are in this situation you can build a solid foundation by bringing real value to real people that you know by sharing your real product or service. You should also turn a profit in doing so which is what makes your “opportunity” viable.
With this foundation in place you can begin to leverage the power of the internet and social media to spread your message and opportunity, an opportunity which you have personally proven in the real world, to people across the globe.
Contrary to many sales pitches trying to sell you their eBook with the breakthrough formula, the barriers to entry on the internet are extremely high. I’ve worked both worlds and I can tell you with certainty that effectively marketing your message online is 10x harder than doing so with people you know.
Yes there is a much larger potential with the virtually unlimited market available online, but network marketing is a game of duplication, which means the fundamental building block in your business must be one with low barriers to success. Marketing online just does not qualify in my experience, which is why the basic building blocks of duplication in your business must not rely on technology or advertising.
So to play the game of network marketing at the highest level…
1. Make sure you have a product or service that you are willing to stake your reputation on.
2. Prove that there is a viable opportunity with your company. To do so you must turn a profit by bringing value to people you know in the “real” world with your product or service.
3. Leverage your product and opportunity via the internet.
If you’re ready, let’s go!
